Process of creating a complicated piece of furniture on the grounds of 3D design

Hotel reception furniture. Its non-standard shape, inclined in several planes, is a result of milling and bonding of successive MDF panels. We adopted an innovative solution consisting in treatment by a 5-axis CNC mill. The raw MDF was hermetically covered with fibreglass and epoxy resin laminates just to be filled and polished numerous times for a perfectly smooth surface effect. The last stage of the treatment, which required lots of precision, was painting. The bottom of the furniture was covered with black lustrous paint, while its upper part – with graphite metallic one. The colors were separated from each other with a diagonal, which was quite a challenge for the painters since the piece of furniture was cylindrical when it comes to shape. Fortunately, laser technology enabled us to mark out a proper line on that diagonal plane. The capable hands of our painters is what made the final effect perfect. This is how we do it! 💪 😉
